KYNAR 500® Paint System
The panels to the right have been through QUV fade tests. The QUV, or accelerated weather machine, simulates paint’s worst enemies: heat, UV light, and moisture. Enclosed in the QUV cabinet, the panels were exposed to alternating four-hour periods of ultraviolet B light and condensation in darkness for a total of one thousand hours. The QUV test results demonstrate the ability of KYNAR 500® to resist fading and to maintain its true color as compared to the generic silicone polyester used by some other builders.

The KYNAR 500® paint system is so good that it has been specified and used on multimillion dollar commercial buildings such as the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia; Bank One Ball Park in Phoenix, Arizona; the United Airlines Terminal in Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport; and One Liberty Plaza located in downtown Philadelphia.
The paint system that protects the panels on these buildings is a very small part of the total cost of the buildings; you can be sure that the owners and the architects would not specify KYNAR paint if they thought there was any better paint system.
