Sean Cain Appointed President of Morton Buildings

May 13, 2021

MORTON, Ill. (5/13/2021) – Sean Cain, who joined Morton Buildings as a construction worker and has since advanced over a distinguished 25-year career, has been named president of the company.

“Sean’s appointment as president underscores the successful growth we have enjoyed as an ESOP company, as well as the need to broaden our management competency to manage that growth,” said John Russell, who will continue to hold the roles of Morton Buildings CEO and chairman of the board.

After completing a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy, Cain joined Morton’s Winfield, Kansas construction center in 1996, where he began as a crewman. From there, he transitioned to sales and steadily progressed through his career in the field as a construction center manager and a regional manager, making stops in Iowa and Colorado along the way, before relocating to the corporate office in Morton, Ill as vice president of sales. Most recently, he served as general manager of field operations. In recent years, he also completed his MBA at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.

Russell noted that while Cain has performed well in all his roles, he is most distinguished by his outstanding leadership in guiding the company, the industry leader in post-frame construction.

“In the face of daily challenges, Sean maintains a focus on the destination, inspiring those around him to pull in the same direction,” Russell said. “He has also been a major contributor within the executive management team.”

In his new role, Cain will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the company, most notably safety, customer satisfaction and the annual budget.
