If you have a garage, hobby building or shop, you can finish the look of your interior by applying an epoxy-coating to your floor.

An epoxy-coat provides a shiny finish to your floor and is an aesthetic alternative to a standard concrete floor.

According to This Old House, the project takes only nine hours over a three-day period and is relatively inexpensive, costing around $120 to $160 per bay.

“Applying an epoxy coating to a concrete floor is as easy as painting walls, but as with painting, the success is in the prep work. Once the calculations, color choices, and cleaning are taken care of, the actual application will seem like the easiest part.”

Head over to This Old House for a step-by-step look at how to epoxy-coat your floor.
