Morton Buildings Responds to Widespread
Derecho Storm Damage in Iowa
Morton, IL – In response to the widespread damage in Iowa that followed the recent derecho storm, Morton Buildings quickly dispatched repair services teams to the affected areas of Iowa and began fielding calls for assistance from impacted building owners. Damages ranged from cosmetic repairs to total building destruction.
“Our hearts go out to all who were affected by this storm, which included many of our customers,” said Sean Cain, Vice President and General Manager at Morton Buildings. “Our customers’ needs are important to us and we are trying to respond as quickly as possible.”
“Our sales and repair services teams are in the process of assessing damages to these buildings and preparing action plans for reconstruction and/or repairs,” he said. “Providing estimates for repairs is the first priority for necessary insurance claims.”
Cain noted that some projects can be moved along more quickly than others. “For instance, Morton buildings under construction or within our 5-year wind-load warranty, we may be able to start working on the repairs and/or rebuilds at a much faster pace, as those projects are Morton’s responsibility and are not pending insurance assessments,” he explained. Cain said other repairs outside the warranty may depend on the customer’s insurance assessments and final project reconstruction plans.
