On Wednesday, June 14th, members of the Morton Buildings team involved in the design and construction of Truck Centers, Inc. newest location in Effingham, Illinois, were onsite to help celebrate the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the center. Morton team members even helped to grill the meat for the lunch!
The 35,000 square-foot full-service dealership was built on property purchased in the mid-1990’s. It features 15 bays for servicing trucks and motorhomes, a parts department with fully-stocked inventory, a truck sales department, and a premier lounge amenities that include WiFi, laundry facilities, TV, showers, vending and workspace.
Abe Stutzman, Midwest Field Construction Coordinator for Morton designBUILD, said that extensive site work began last June with site clearing, building a retention pond, utilities and concrete work. The actual construction of the Morton building, with its unique Energy Performer insulation package features, began in November. Since then, there has been 17 semi loads of materials delivered from the Morton fabrication plant, including the steel supports and rails for the two overhead cranes in the service area.
