Wind Warranty at its Best

July 31, 2019

On May 28, 2019, one of the most destructive tornadoes to hit Kansas in recent years was on the ground for over 30 miles, from southwest of Lawrence to just west of the Kansas City metro area, with approximately 50 homes, and over 150 structures damaged or destroyed.

One of the homes lost belonged to Roger Johnson of Lawrence. Roger’s home, with a large attached workshop, was directly in the path of this F4 tornado, with 170+ mph wind speeds.

For close to 50 years, Morton buildings has provided a five-year wind warranty to its customers with no velocity limit. Our buildings are not tornado proof, but they are built with materials & design standards that few structures can equal.

Do you know of any other builder that offers this degree of quality in design and materials, that is backed by a non-prorated warranty providing material and labor protection, and the peace of mind it provides for its owners?

After the Roger's damage was assessed, engineered plans were compiled, and building permits were released. New building materials were delivered June 14th, with construction starting the following Monday. By Thursday, June 20th, walls were in place and the trusses were in the air as the rebuilding began.

By the end of June, the new building was complete!
