NEW PAINT COLORS FOR 2019

May 1, 2019

We’re excited to showcase three new color options that have been added to the Morton Buildings’ family of colors—rustic bronze, weathered gray, and bright red!

Rustic Bronze:

This color is for those who desire a classic, weathered, or aged look to their building. It is a low gloss paint system, resulting in low reflectivity and less sheen.  It is an excellent choice for siding, wainscot, roofing, trim, and even interior walls.  The secret behind the design: During the final stages of the coil coating process, a laser-engraved chrome roller transfers a thin layer of a lighter brown PVDF ink onto the coil in a pattern, which gives the steel its unique weathered appearance.

Weathered Gray:

The “weathered” look is achieved with the same innovative technology and methods used to produce our rustic bronze.  This pattern is a “wood grain,” so it is ideal for exterior walls, as our 12” on-center Hi-Rib® steel pattern provides a pseudo-board-and-batten look. When the panel is utilized on the roof, it gives the appearance of a “weathering” bare metal.  Weathered gray is also a low sheen color and provides a maintenance-free alternative to wood siding or to weathering bare metal roof.

Several solid colors complement weathered grey, including white, charcoal, red, burgundy and black, with an assortment of these shown below:

Bright Red:

While bright red metal may not be new to the marketplace, many other builders or panel providers typically only offer a reduced fade warranty, due to any bright color’s inclination for premature fading.  Since exceptional quality is the hallmark of our product, Morton Buildings has now perfected the production process to  offer a durable bright red option with a low sheen finish and an additional clear coat layer of UV protection.  And this is covered with our industry leading 35-year fade warranty. The new bright red color is ideal for siding, roofing, gutters and downspouts, and any steel trims that we manufacture.

How does bright red differ from our standard red? See below for a side-by-side comparison:
