2016 “Giving Away the Farm” Sweepstakes Winner Announced!

Morton Buildings is pleased to announce the winner of the 2016 “Giving Away the Farm” sweepstakes!  Pete Heinrichs of Graettinger, Iowa has won $76,000 in prizes, that includes a $50,000 credit towards a new Morton building, a Bad Boy® Off Road Stampede™ 900 4x4, and an Exmark Lazer Z X-Series mower.

Pete entered the contest in the summer at the Clay County Fair in Spencer, Iowa, as he had been thinking about putting up a storage shed, and went to speak with Morton Buildings at the fair to get more information.

He didn’t believe it at first when he found out he had won.  “Shock was the first response.  And then I told pretty much everybody I knew,” he said.

As the owner of Midwest Technology Services, Pete plans to use the new building as an addition to the company’s headquarters.  Founded in 2009, Midwest Technology Services sells, installs, and services IP telephone systems, overhead paging systems, voice/data cabling, and video surveillance systems.  His new Morton building will be an insulated shop that will provide his business with more room, shelving and storage for emergency parts.  In addition, he plans to have high enough walls to put in a half-court basketball court for his son and daughter to practice during the winter months.

Out of his entire prize package, Pete is most excited about his new building.  “It will be nice to have an insulated place that will be heated and cooled, that we can keep the business more organized and more conveniently load items.”

He met with his Morton sales consultant last week to begin the building process.

Previous winners have constructed farm, equestrian, and residential facilities across Iowa, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Illinois, Ohio, and New York.  Stay tuned for more updates about the Pete’s new building!
